15 acre lake, adjacent to Kishwaukee river. One mile recreation path around the lake, playground equipment, tennis courts, basketball court and picnic facilities. Pavilion and gazebo rental available, baseball diamond.

Swanson Park East & West and Cherry Valley Pedestrian Path

Opened in the fall of 1998, this 1.43 mile paved path between Swanson Parkway and Valley Woods Drive offers a scenic route through wooded areas and past several ponds. There are three rest areas where you can stop to enjoy the beauty of this path. By using the path underpass of U.S. 20 Bypass, you can travel on Village of Cherry Valley streets or go into the Village and continue your trek on the 1.7 miles of pathway in Baumann Park.
 
You can reach the path from Vandiver Road, located south of Kegel's Motorcycle Store and Diner. Parking may be available at the businesses on Vandiver Road.

 

 

Winnebago County Forest Preserves: Kishwaukee Corridor

In the heart of Cherry Valley is a beautiful corridor of forest preserves offering scenery, wildlife, diverse recreational opportunities, and some of the county's most interesting geological features including forests, wetlands and prairie openings.

Five preserves comprising 2,167 acres border the Kishwaukee River; a popular canoeing and tubing waterway.
